Imagine if your cologne could come with you. No longer just a decorative bottle in your bathroom, solid cologne is right there in your pocket - ready to hel p you tackle whatever life throws at you.
They say good things come in small packages, and never has that saying been truer. Weighing in at just 15 grams, our products are virtually invisible in your pocket or bag. Being so portable, you can take them with you wherever you go - it’s the perfect everyday grooming companion. So whether you’ve just sprinted to catch the train or you’re heading out to after work drinks, solid cologne’s got your back. Re-apply as often as you like and maintain that shower fresh feeling all day long.
Whilst following you around all day at work is fun, our solid colognes love it even more when you take them on holiday. No more decanting your favourite scent into a travel bottle (and spilling half of it in the process), or burying it in your checked baggage and hoping it makes it through the flight. With no water in our products, we give you one less thing to stress about at the airport. The strong aluminum casing is virtually indestructible, so it’s up for whatever adventures you have planned.
Unlike traditional spray colognes, our wax-based formula doesn’t contain any alcohol. Instead, we use a combination of natural and botanically derived ingredients such as beeswax, shea butter, and jojoba oil, as well as essential and premium fragrance oils. This means it’s a lot gentler on the skin and won’t cause dryness or irritation, perfect for all skin types.
The formulation of the product also means the cologne is highly concentrated. You’re getting up to ten times the fragrance, but at one-tenth of the size. With regular use, Solid State colognes can last for many months.
For best results when using a solid cologne, we suggest applying the product on your pulse points such as the inside of your wrists, on your neck and behind the ears. The reason we advise these spots is that they stay the warmest, allowing the solid formulation to release the fragrance most effectively. The non-greasy formula means you can use your finger to dab the product onto the skin and not be left with an oily mess afterward. Our skin-loving ingredients mean you’ll also be nicely moisturised, as well as smelling good.
Solid State is an Australian made and owned company, ethically sourcing all raw ingredients. We’re a cruelty-free brand and only ever test on humans, not animals.
If you’re looking for the best way to smell great all day, it may be time to consider an alternative to your regular spritz fragrances. Whilst we’re still big fans of spray products, you just can’t beat the convenience and ease of solid cologne. Visit our site to learn more about our range of solid products.

“Experts” have predicted the demise of the beard since 2014, yet it seemed to have hit peak popularity in 2015.
When taking into consideration how trends will behave, we need to observe what our key influencers are doing. Celebrities and media personalities play a huge part in deciding what’s considered relevant. If the likes of Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matthew McConahey and Tom Hardy continue to sport beards, then there’s no telling how long we’ll ride the hipster trend.
But one things for sure; when hair trends move away from aggressively short sides, long tops and shaved part lines in favour of a looser, more textured look, the demise of the beard will follow. Can’t have a bushy face and top now, can we?
Here at SolidState HQ we understand that when done right, a beard is a beautiful thing. We don’t take for granted how much easier caring for that glorious thing can be instead of attacking your skin with razors on a daily basis.
And let’s talk about the man points. The simple feat of growing something so impressive will make the trend hard to move away from. But when we do, may we suggest you carry your ID to the local bottle-O until some of the stubble comes back? Prepare for a resurgence of youthful complexions in your neighbourhood when the beard is finally kicked to the proverbial curb. Whilst we can’t tell you when, we can solidly predict that it will.
This is just how the fashion cycle works. We’ll grow older. Our priorities will change. And then we might have kids, who’ll have their own kids and the unprecedented access they’ll have to the digital footprints of our youth will no doubt lead to opinions about our beards and quiffs just like we had about our parents afro’s and mo’s
Solid State HQ thinks it’s time for a change. Let’s all just think of the children.

A 15ml Solid Cologne will last approximately 3 months with heavy use, if you compared this to a 15ml spray you'd be lucky to see the week out.
Whether you have it in your pocket, office drawer or gym bag, there is no denying the versatility of a good Solid Cologne. Now we aren’t telling you to throw out your favourite fragrance, on the contrary, we are just pointing out their limitations.
There’s a famous saying we like down at Solid State HQ - “You miss 100% off the shots you don’t take”. So throw a mint in your mouth, dab on a bit of Solid State and take that shot. First impressions are everything. Keep it Solid. Run the State.

I have spent 10 years of my adult life cutting hair, and I found that 9/10 gents have no idea that using a hairdryer is an absolute must! Now don't freak out guys, I dont expect you to look like a Kardashian, but with most gents sporting some extra length on top these days, a hairdryer will make styling much easier, and far more effective.
Ever left the house, glanced into the mirror, and thought what a handsome devil? Only to go to the bathroom half way through the evening to find more of a wet rat staring back at you? Never Fear, Solid State is here to help.
Step 1.
Always start from wet! Prime the hair, use an anti frizz cream or sea salt depending on your desired results.
Step 2.
Apply product to wet hair. this will ensure you are evenly spreading the product, whilst the water will also dilute the product, making for more control, and less clumpiness.
Step 3.
Whilst the hair is still wet, comb/mould into the shape you would like it to sit in once it has dried.
This is important if you're after a long lasting style. Remember the wet rat?
Step 4.
Using the Hair Dryer, dry your hair. Now there is no real technique involved, but what I will advise is, try and maintain that shape we moulded in earlier.
For example, If you like wearing your hair up at the front, make sure the hair dryer is drying that part back, if you like wearing it down, do the exact opposite, dry it flat down.
Step 5.
Once your hair is completely dry, I recommend going in with some form of matte moulding product. You're only going to need a very small amount, this is because you have laid the foundations with the hairdryer, so add small amounts at a time, until you reach the desired texture.
Now that you have some insider tips, you’re well on your way to hair that lasts all night!
Now go and buy a hairdryer.
