Mandarin Old Fashioned

Inspired by Journeyman

You can’t help but feel a little distinguished when you are drinking an Old Fashioned Cocktail, and this one with mandarin oranges is tops. In this version, we used mandarins and a little of the syrup they are packed in as a substitute for traditional fresh orange slice and sugar.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 Cup of canned Mandarins
  • 1tbsp of Mandarin syrup
  • 2 Maraschino Cherries
  • 2 dashes Bitters
  • 50ml Bourbon
    1. Place 2 Mandarin slices, Mandarin syrup, one cherry, and the bitters in an 8 oz. cocktail glass. Muddle to crush oranges and cherry.
    2. Pour in bourbon, remaining orange slices, and fill the glass 2/3 full with ice.
    3. Stir gently to distribute the ice and oranges. Top with a cherry (or three) and serve.
